Aims & Objectives
The aims and objectives of the Nuneaton Women's Multicultural Resource Centre are:
To empower women living in highly disadvantaged areas of Nuneaton and Bedworth by developing and providing a variety of services to improve the quality of their lives, without distinction of political, religious, sexual orientation, disability, cultural or other opinions. This will be achieved by association with other community groups and voluntary organisations in a common effort to facilitate the development and delivery of training, educational and recreational programmes, as well as the promotion of community enterprise initiatives
To develop community cohesion between women of all backgrounds and the wider community
To increase confidence, self-esteem, motivation and skills to empower women to improve the quality of their lives, the lives of their families and in turn the wider community
To increase women’s awareness of the leisure and work opportunities available within Nuneaton and Bedworth
To reduce the social isolation experienced by hard to reach women
To reduce individual poverty through access to our services
To encourage women to participate in the development of Nuneaton and Bedworth
To work with local employers to increase the level of commercial activity and associated job opportunities
To provide link with the Centre and external agencies
To identify and offer support to women in the area who may not be currently engaged in economic regeneration and training-based activities
To empower all women by developing and implementing a range of services to improve the quality of their lives and those of their families, in particular, Minority Ethnic women who may not normally access these services due to language and other barriers
